Sustainable projects for our future.
We develop large-scale pumped storage and battery energy storage projects that make solar and wind based power grids reliable across the United States.
A developer of large energy storage resources, specialized in pumped storage systems.
Premium Energy Holdings, LLC was created in 2010. In affiliation with Power-Tech Engineers, Inc. (PTEI), we have worked on projects across the west and east coasts of the U.S. This alliance allows our customers to deploy their own and third-party Pumped Storage Project (PSP) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) developments — including feasibility studies, permitting, design, and construction.
The project portfolio
Pumped storage projects on both U.S. coasts, each designed to store and dispatch renewable energy at grid scale.
Intermountain Pumped Storage
Millard County, Utah. A closed-loop plant using a new DMAD 2 reservoir as the lower pool and a new reservoir in the Canyon Mountains Range as the upper pool, interconnecting with the existing Intermountain AC Switchyard.
Haiwee Pumped Storage
Inyo County, California. A new North Haiwee Reservoir 2 that also improves seismic reliability of the LA Aqueduct system.
Walker Lake
Mineral County, Nevada. Walker Lake as the lower pool with a new upper reservoir in the Wassuk Range, interconnecting to the PDCI.
Pyramid Lake
Washoe County, Nevada. Up to 2,900 ft of hydraulic head, paired with a proposed 2,000 MW solar PV farm.
Isabella Lake
Kern County, California. Existing Isabella reservoir as the lower pool with a new upper reservoir in the Southern Sierra Nevada.
Ashokan PSP
Uses the Ashokan reservoir with a proposed upper reservoir of 226 acres, interconnecting to the existing Hurley Av. Substation via 230 kV lines.
Shoreham PSP
A proposed 500 MW, 6-hour pumped storage resource supporting renewable integration on the east coast grid.
